Congratulations to Pastor Laura!

Congratulations to Rev. Laura Hamm Peterson on her installation and commissioning today as Settled Senior Pastor of Heritage Christian Church in Silver Spring, MD. Laura is the daughter of Richard Hamm, former General Minister and President of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and current Executive Administrator of Christian Churches Together. She received her Masters of Theology from Vanderbilt Divinity School, and her Masters of Divinity from Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis. Shortly after marrying Mark Peterson (May 18, 2007), Laura moved to Gaithersburg, Maryland (June 2007), and accepted a call to serve as interim minister at Heritage. Let us join the congregation in celebrating Pastor Laura's commissioning as its new senior pastor, and pray God's blessings on her new ministry as a leader of the team of leaders of the diverse ministries at Heritage Christian Church.

The Commission was officially appointed on today and will hold a series of public hearings in July, August and September.
