Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord!

Many people expend great energy preparing for Christmas, yet fail to appreciate the true meaning of the season. Advent, if properly observed, can change all that, helping us to realize more fully what the coming of Christ can mean in our lives.

Disciples Home Missions recommends an Advent devotional created by Disciples pastors in Seattle, WA. To download this devotional, PLEASE CLICK HERE.

Another resource for Advent preparation is a list of peace and justice readings (with links) prepared by the Minister of Peace and Justice of the Mennonite Mission Network. To access these readings, PLEASE CLICK HERE.

Another resource for devotions during this Advent season is the booklet, "Lament and Hope: Feed My Sheep," by Kathy Campbell-Barton, the Peace with Justice Coordinator in the Oregon-Idaho Conference of the United Methodist Church. To download a copy, PLEASE CLICK HERE.

Still another resource worth highlighting is an Advent liturgy from the Catholic Campaign Against Global Poverty. To download this resource, PLEASE CLICK HERE.

May this Advent season be for you a blessing, a challenge, and an opportunity for renewal.
